I am so excited to be finally sharing literally the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. My friend is hands down the best baker and she has spent so long changing this recipe up to make it taste the best.
My only tip is that more flour is better. We think that adding more flour will make it dry, not these cookies! I actually end up doing about the full amount of flour suggested. It makes them nice and thick and the perfect consistency. Also, this recipe makes A LOT! If I am baking them just for friends or my family, I cut the recipe in half. If I am making them for a party or any other big event, I keep the recipe at full. But my mixer only fits half the recipe at a time, so I will make half with chocolate chips and the other half with white chocolate chips.
Follow this recipe to a T and you will bake the best chocolate chip cookies ever!
1 cup of salted butter
1 cup of shortening
3 cups of sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
6-7 1/2 cups flour
3 tsp salt
3 tsp baking soda
6 tsp vanilla
2 bags of chocolate chips, chunks, M&Ms or whatever you want. I usually do semi sweet chocolate chips & chocolate chunks.
Bake at 350 for 10 minutes (makes 42 large cookies)
How I Make Them:
Cream butter & shortening
Add in sugars, mix
Add all of the eggs, mix
Add all dry ingredients, mix
Check out your dough, is it still sticky/wet looking? If so, add some flour. Similar to bread recipes, I know my dough is good when it pulls away from the side of the bowl. Add in your chocolate chips.
Use a large ice cream scoop to get the dough on the cookie sheets. Bake 8 at a time on a large cookie sheet for 10 mins. Do not over bake! Let them cool for a few minutes. Store them in an air tight container.
